Tallest spire - The tallest cathedral spire in the world is that of the Protestant Cathedral of Ulm in West Germany. The building is early Gothic and was begun in 1377. The tower, in the center of the west facade, was not finally completed until 1890 and is 528 ft high. (Photo: Images/Erich Bach)
